Cold Cast Bronze
What is cold cast bronze also know as bonded bronze This technique involves blending bronze powder with resin to produce a material which is applied to the interior of the silicone mould. Layers of resin and fiberglass matting or roving are layed over the first set layer of bronze and resin to give it strength. when all is set it is the removed from the mould and then the finishing work begins.
Of course there is a lot more involved than this simple explanation but there is further information to be found on the internet and in books on this subject. The product is strong and durable and to look at it you can't tell from foundry bronze but it is about one quarter of the price. Any questions feel free to email me. gordl@shaw.ca
